John Dickson Carr Links on the Internet

There are several web pages dedicated to John Dickson Carr. Some come, some go, but these are the best and most 'stable':

  • Fans of John Dickson Carr
A Yahoo Group specifically dedicated to John Dickson Carr; please join this group if you are an aficionado.
  • Classic Mystery and Detection (Carr)
Michael Grost's masterful scholarly analysis of JDC in relation to other writers of the 'Golden Age of Detection' (this web site, is, in its entirety, an on-line book that is well worth reading in detail)
  • The John Dickson Carr Collector
David Young's very good web site with details about original publication dates (and prices!)
  • John Dickson Carr Tribute page [Uh-oh! Just checked, Jan 2004, and this web site has disappeared]
A nicely done site by Mohan Kumar, with scans of book covers and short reviews
  • The Ministry of Miracles
Nicholas Fuller's excellent web site, while covering many other authors such as Gladys Mitchell and H.C. Bailey, is mainly dedicated to JDC and has full and detailed reviews of his mysteries
  • Bibliography
Christian Henriksson's list of the JDC opus (or technically opera!); this site is a very good source for book lists about most of the major mystery authors

There is also, of course, my own John Dickson Carr -- Golden Age Mystery Writer -- a Bibliography and Appreciation, by 'Grobius Shortling'.

For an item of interest to to Carr fans, also look at the article on Locked-room murders.
